Beginner-friendly by design
No prior design background needed. Our courses are structured step by step, so newcomers and working professionals alike build real, industry-aligned skills from day one.
TIARAA — Academy of Fine Jewellery Design — was built on a single conviction: that jewellery is a language. We teach that language with the rigour of a studio, the warmth of a workshop, and the tools of the present day.
TIARAA is the first institute in Trivandrum dedicated exclusively to fine jewellery design. Not a general art school. Not a government programme bolted onto a broader syllabus. Every course, every tool, and every mentor here exists for one purpose — to turn a passion for jewellery into a professional craft.
Kerala carries one of India's deepest jewellery traditions. We honour that heritage while equipping our students with the skills the modern industry demands: hand sketching and gouache rendering, gemmology, CAD modelling on Rhino 3D and MatrixGold, photorealistic rendering in KeyShot, and AI-assisted ideation. Craft and technology, taught as one continuous discipline.
Our students arrive as beginners and enthusiasts. They leave with a portfolio, a vocabulary, and the confidence to step into a studio, work with clients, or build a brand of their own.
To make professional jewellery design education accessible in Kerala — structured, mentor-led, and genuinely job-ready. We bridge the gap between creative talent and the technical fluency the industry rewards, so anyone with the passion can build a real career.
To become a leading jewellery design education hub that nurtures talent, preserves Kerala's craftsmanship, and embraces modern design technologies — producing designers whose work is recognised across studios, brands, and markets far beyond Trivandrum.
For Sheeja Vivek, jewellery was never just ornament — it was a craft worth teaching with rigour. The founder of TIARAA — Academy of Fine Jewellery Design, she built Trivandrum's first institute dedicated entirely to fine jewellery from that single conviction. A graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Mumbai, she brings together formal gemological training and years of hands-on industry experience — from antique jewellery manual design with Tanvi Gold Cast for the brand Yug, to her tenure as Senior Faculty in the Handsketch and Design Department at the Institute of Gem and Jewellery, Malappuram, where she shaped the foundations of countless aspiring designers.
A practising designer as much as an educator, Sheeja works fluently across hand sketching, manual rendering, CAD design, and CorelDRAW illustration, continually deepening her craft through training and creative research. She built TIARAA to give Kerala's emerging designers something she once had to search far to find: structured, studio-grade training that treats jewellery design as a serious profession, not a hobby. Through her mentorship, students move from their very first sketch to a finished, professional portfolio — guided not only in technique, but in the confidence to build a real career in design.
